About The Author

I have worked as a professional Personal Support Worker since 2010 in both home care and long term care capacities. I care passionately and advocate for the personal support worker as an integral part of the healthcare team. With this blog, I hope to be able to share my experiences and educate many regarding the role of a PSW.

This blog tells my stories regarding the REAL life of a working PSW. I share the good, the bad & the ugly realms involved with this line of work. I hope to use this blog as a platform for PSWs to tell their stories.

  1. You sound amazing. It must be very rewarding to first have the awareness you can be competent at something, then at school you had the grades to back it up, then an employer accepts you for your abilities. I am almost fifty and I want to start PSW as a second career. I haven’t been able to make a go out of engineering after all these years. Now I’m worried my age will be a barrier, or I’ll pick the wrong school, or I won’t get a job after paying so much money for retraining. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
